    City Hall

I participated in the Louisville Visual Arts Association’s Paint Out! 2010 on May 23rd. This is the painting I completed that day, starting out at 5th and Jefferson at 7a.m. and turning in my painting at 2:30p.m. that afternoon. What a day! It was a good thing I started early because it was a scorching day reaching 90 degrees. We had over 100 regional artists participating. I was fortunate to be among fifteen that received awards and the only watercolorist. I received a wonderful Winsor and Newton paint box as my award and have enjoyed using it already.

The fifteen award-winning paintings will be on display July 5th through September 27th at the Pegasus Gallery in the Louisville International Airport and many will be for sale. If you’re passing through the airport, stop in and see these beautiful paintings!

    J'Town Viaduct

I was on Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown yesterday, late in the afternoon, and it was perfect timing as far as lighting goes. Since I always have my little Nikon camera and sketch book with me, I pulled them and quickly took down this scene.  This is going towards Louisville, just past Grand Avenue heading under the viaduct. If you travel the J’town area much, you know this site! I want to make several small paintings of areas in Metro Louisville, so if you have any suggestions for my next painting, please leave a comment or email me!

Image Size: 8 x 11″  Neutral mat: 11×14″,  Black w/ Silver Accent Frame -outside dimensions: 14.5×17.5″

Price:  $200.00 (plus S&H)   Please email me for availability.

    Bardstown Road 2

This is a busy street in Louisville. Every morning and evening during rush hours, the traffic lanes change directions–the square, lighted signs above the street are marked with green arrows or red “x”s, depending upon the direction of the lane. One of our most eclectic areas in Louisville, it is lined with various shops (tattoos to skateboards), restaurants, pubs and galleries. A great gathering place for friends and always fun to walk—you never know what you’ll find on Bardstown Road.
Image Size: 17×23″   Outside Frame Dimensions:  27×33″    Price:  $600 (plus S&H), includes custom mat and framing.  Deduct $100.00 to purchase painting only.   Purchase: Please email me for availability.

    Aviles

Although I have never been in Aviles, Spain, I have seen many photos of it’s beautiful street scenes. This is generally a made-up scene, based on those photos. It looks like a place I’d like to visit and this painting helped take me there.

Image Size: 11×15″ Price:$225 (plus $10 for S&H) Purchase: Please email me for availability.

    Hwy 60 Roadside Grocery

If you’ve traveled Hwy 60 between Louisville and Shelbyville, you probably remember seeing this roadside grocery. It has been there for many years and is a landmark for anyone that grew up in this area. It is a great place to stop and is as interesting inside as it is out.

Image Size: 14.5×10.5″ Price:$200.00 (plus $10 for S&H) Purchase: Please email me for availability.
