The Artist

Judy Moore Mudd, native to Louisville, KY, is a watercolor and mixed media artist.  She is a member of the Kentucky Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, and the Portrait Society of America.

Judy Moore MuddJudy was born into a family of artists and raised in an atmosphere of creativity.  Her mother, Juanita Watkins Moore, was an artist in oils and acrylics.   Judy also had an uncle, a grandfather, and a great-grandfather who painted.

Judy chose watercolors as her medium of choice, loving the translucency, blending and layering of colors only this medium can provide.  Judy enjoys studying the work of American watercolor artists John Singer Sergeant and Winslow Homer and contemporary artists such as American master artist Charles Reid and Australians Robert Wade, Robert  Zbukvic and David Taylor.   She has had the pleasure of studying twice with Charles Reid, along with Mel Stabin, Judi Betts, Pat Weaver, Stephen Blackburn and others.  In 2010, she has taken an Advanced Atelier with Mary Whyte in Charleston, SC and Carla O’Connor in Louisville, KY.

Judy’s paintings have been purchased by clients throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.  Her artwork is on display and for sale at the Kentucky Watercolor Society  Gallery at Mellwood Arts and Entertainment Center, the Trio Salon in Middletown, and the Middletown Library branch of the Louisville Free Public Library.
